After 29 played minutes Seniorita Varga got a freekick which was hit by Monico Bellucci. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alcides López in the 35th minute of play forced Seniorita Varga's goalkeeper Maciej Zaremba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Seniorita Varga's Monico Bellucci got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Seniorita Varga booed when Inter de Chillán was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcel Wassermayer didn't get a good kick on the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Seniorita Varga's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rogerio Berecedo ran over to the corner to take the kick. Inter de Chillán's Pepe Yates played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Monico Bellucci in the 88th minute of play. Seniorita Varga's Maciej Zaremba proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Seniorita Varga from getting a goal against them. 90 minutes into the game, Janusz Walkowski was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Seniorita Varga's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Inter de Chillán the free kick. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal.
