When Edmondo Conti came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Flatline Zombies fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmondo Conti couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Flatline Zombies getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Bayındır Mehmet Yeten hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Flatline Zombies's Lorenzo Castelletti got a free kick in the 13th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Flatline Zombies's zone, Walmyr Salles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudio Weniger came out of the goal and Walmyr Salles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 16 minutes into the game, Flatline Zombies's Edmondo Conti nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcos Buffon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Enrique Freitag received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Marcos Buffon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 31st match minute, Flatline Zombies was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Noel Zanier to maneuver through the defense. In the 32nd minute Enrique Freitag shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Buffon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luizão Dantas's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Claudio Weniger firmly grabbed it by the left post. Walmyr Salles struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Claudio Weniger didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AVAÍ F.C.. AVAÍ F.C.'s Marcos Buffon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Noel Zanier in the 41st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in AVAÍ F.C.'s zone, David Stierli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcos Buffon came out of the goal and David Stierli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teodoro Magalhães stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Enrique Freitag shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Buffon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juan Arantes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudio Weniger having to interfere. In the 60th minute, René Ostermann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. AVAÍ F.C. made a substitution. Ronaldinho Brito replaced Mateus Alves. In the 65th minute Ronaldinho Brito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudio Weniger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Enrique Freitag received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Flatline Zombies's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AVAÍ F.C. the free kick. AVAÍ F.C. made a substitution. Rubens Cabral replaced Juan Arantes. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 73rd minute of the game. One of Flatline Zombies:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of AVAÍ F.C.:s goal. Rubens Cabral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmondo Conti got free with Marcos Buffon in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Claudio Weniger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmyr Salles in the 87th minute of play. René Ostermann hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
