In the 16th minute, Jarrett Wiggins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 25 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Timur Seidl sped through Illinois Bluewaters's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Roger Myles. After a defensive mix-up in Illinois Bluewaters's zone, Timur Seidl stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roger Myles came out of the goal and Timur Seidl tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 30th minute Allan Szangolies shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roger Myles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Norbert Lillge fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC 08 Brühl's protests and gave Norbert Lillge a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Illinois Bluewaters booed when FC 08 Brühl was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norbert Lillge didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd match minute, FC 08 Brühl was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Norbert Lillge to maneuver through the defense. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Roger Myles showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Roger Myles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Timur Seidl, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Deshawn Glenn made a kick off. Rurik Ellinghaus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dante Todd, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 56 minutes, Sal Jarrell put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Rurik Ellinghaus. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Friedrich Hölderlin during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 62nd minute, one of FC 08 Brühl:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC 08 Brühl. But to his dismay, Erasmus Kammholz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. FC 08 Brühl's Rurik Ellinghaus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sal Jarrell in the 85th minute of play. Illinois Bluewaters's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by 高笑广 in the 87th minute. Illinois Bluewaters's 高笑广 was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Rurik Ellinghaus in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 88 minutes into the game, Ingolf Bloch was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC 08 Brühl's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Illinois Bluewaters the free kick. After a rather tough play, FC 08 Brühl's Ingolf Bloch got a free kick in the 88th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Timur Seidl in the 96th minute of play forced Illinois Bluewaters's goalkeeper Roger Myles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Illinois Bluewaters supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching FC 08 Brühl's performance. The match ended with a win for FC 08 Brühl.
