Gert Haeger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Ludomir Chmelyk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. AIK FOTBOLL's Braulio Castel got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 39 minutes into the game, Gert Haeger cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Ludomir Chmelyk was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Braulio Castel in the 43rd minute of play forced PACYN's goalkeeper Ludomir Chmelyk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 45 minutes into the match, PACYN's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Valenzuela came free, but Ludomir Chmelyk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. AIK FOTBOLL's Manfred Blomkvist was substituted for Victor Valenzuela. After the first half AIK FOTBOLL were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Waclaw Chrzan to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, PACYN's goal looked a bit too open when Gert Haeger came free, but Ludomir Chmelyk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 72nd minute Pål Hammarström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ludomir Chmelyk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ludomir Chmelyk made an important save on a dangerous shot by Braulio Castel in the 75th minute. Ludomir Chmelyk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manfred Blomkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ludomir Chmelyk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gert Haeger, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. When the match was over AIK FOTBOLL could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than PACYN throughout the match.
