In the 5th minute, Elano Tande hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arlindo Guedes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacobo Iruinea, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Thiago Damião got free with Daniil Tanalidis in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Daniil Tanalidis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thiago Damião in the 23rd minute of play. Zé Roberto Matos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Daniil Tanalidis having to make a save. In the 31st minute Zé Roberto Matos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniil Tanalidis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 33rd minute of the match AF CERRADO got a corner. Forest Green's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Richard Travassos ran over to the corner to take the kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jacobo Iruinea during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The long shot by Cauan Vieira in the 40th minute really tested Daniil Tanalidis's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thiago Damião in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Daniil Tanalidis saved Forest Green from getting behind. Thiago Damião's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 44thth minute, Daniil Tanalidis skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 46th match minute, AF CERRADO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elano Tande to maneuver through the defense. Jacobo Iruinea struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Arlindo Guedes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Forest Green. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Thiago Damião received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Daniil Tanalidis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Thiago Damião's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Daniil Tanalidis was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. In the 63rd minute, Zé Roberto Matos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Richard Travassos made a great header on AF CERRADO's corner, it was just that Forest Green's Daniil Tanalidis managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 69th minute of the match Richard Travassos sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Daniil Tanalidis skillfully saved the ball. 70 minutes into the match, Forest Green's goal looked a bit too open when Thiago Damião came free, but Daniil Tanalidis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 76 minutes, Thiago Damião made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Forest Green's Daniil Tanalidis tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The corner led AF CERRADO's Richard Travassos to fire away a dangerous shot which Daniil Tanalidis despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Forest Green's Florentino Piarres slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Arlindo Guedes. That made the score 1-1 after 91 minutes of play. After 96 minutes of play, AF CERRADO's Thiago Damião made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Daniil Tanalidis was left in no man's land by his defense there! Forest Green's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
