In the 9th match minute, Modlau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tolek Zieba to maneuver through the defense. Arsene De Vlaeminck stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dobromir Rzeszutko's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. Walery Rekawiczka sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mateusz Pryputnicki in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arsene De Vlaeminck saved Brugge United from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mateusz Pryputnicki in the 16th minute of play forced Brugge United's goalkeeper Arsene De Vlaeminck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Michal Zdeb took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arsene De Vlaeminck. Arsene De Vlaeminck dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. A collision led to Brugge United getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Gertjan De Poorter hit a great ball. When the match clock showed 33 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Dobromir Rzeszutko sped through Brugge United's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Arsene De Vlaeminck. Dobromir Rzeszutko scored 0-4 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arsene De Vlaeminck, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Brugge United getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Christian Meys hit a great ball. Arsene De Vlaeminck didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dobromir Rzeszutko went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score.

If Jochen Diericx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 60 minutes, Dobromir Rzeszutko mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Modlau and the Brugge United players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Modlau's Dobromir Rzeszutko got a free kick in the 61st minute. Stasio Starogardzki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herald Bruynincx, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mateusz Pryputnicki hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. The Modlau supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Modlau would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
