Attilio Scarpa really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. When Attilio Scarpa came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the OldHighburyInvincibles fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Attilio Scarpa couldn't finish the play. In the 18th minute, Attilio Scarpa reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Conrado Linares. The goal made the score 2-0. André Onana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dedé Dante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute of the match Ibirama Futebol Clube got a corner. OldHighburyInvincibles's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Maurício Queirós ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Maurício Queirós got away a dangerous shot. Despite this André Onana quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Attilio Scarpa came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the OldHighburyInvincibles fans jumped to their feet. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Attilio Scarpa managed to get in a good position for a shot. OldHighburyInvincibles's supporters rose to their feet, but Attilio Scarpa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Conrado Linares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sérgio Conceicão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 33 minutes into the game, Attilio Scarpa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Conrado Linares. Attilio Scarpa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. Maurício Queirós charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Maurício Queirós the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 36th minute, Maurício Queirós hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Attilio Scarpa scored 4-0 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Conrado Linares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ibirama Futebol Clube's Conrado Linares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Ibirama Futebol Clube from getting a goal against them. OldHighburyInvincibles's attentive Florian Paolucci managed to snatch the ball when Maurício Queirós made a throw-in in the 45th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Attilio Scarpa managed to get in a good position for a shot. OldHighburyInvincibles's supporters rose to their feet, but Attilio Scarpa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Conrado Linares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dedé Dante to strike the kick off in the second half. Attilio Scarpa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Conrado Linares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Aldo Vieri managed to get in a good position for a shot. OldHighburyInvincibles's supporters rose to their feet, but Aldo Vieri was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Conrado Linares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Attilio Scarpa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Conrado Linares having to make a save. In the 61st minute Attilio Scarpa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Conrado Linares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Ibirama Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Franklin Loyola hit a great ball. OldHighburyInvincibles's Luka Toni was substituted for Attilio Scarpa. 67 minutes into the match, Ibirama Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Luka Toni came free, but Conrado Linares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bianco Helfer during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Bianco Helfer hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luka Toni in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Conrado Linares saved Ibirama Futebol Clube from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Ibirama Futebol Clube's zone, Luka Toni stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Conrado Linares came out of the goal and Luka Toni tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Conrado Linares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luka Toni in the 86th minute of play. In the 88th minute Luka Toni shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Conrado Linares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. OldHighburyInvincibles's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
