Gérald Fayard stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arnie Kenack's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Émile Guérinet hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. If Dani Clack had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute, Omer Garry got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Lyon 69ers booed when Harry Cool was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dani Clack didn't get a good kick on the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Harry Cool's Arnie Kenack sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gérald Fayard narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 33rd minute, Steevy Harbonnier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arnie Kenack took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gérald Fayard. Gérald Fayard dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arnie Kenack in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gérald Fayard prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 41st minute Arnie Kenack shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gérald Fayard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Michel Manche received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Douglas Watts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arnie Potter charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arnie Potter the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 45th match minute, Harry Cool was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnie Potter to maneuver through the defense.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arnie Kenack was the one to do the kick off. Arnie Kenack recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 60th minute, Lyon 69ers's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Arnie Kenack fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Harry Cool were furious when Conner Surman was red carded, 62 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 62nd minute, Conner Surman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 64th minute Steevy Harbonnier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Douglas Watts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 66 minutes, Arnie Kenack took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Gérald Fayard to make any attempt to save it. Arnie Kenack's late challenge caught a Lyon 69ers's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arnie Kenack helped the player get up and apologised. Lyon 69ers's Michel Manche got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lyon 69ers's Steven Eckert was substituted for Norbert Ohlmann. When Lyon 69ers's Yazid Danton in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Harry Cool's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of Lyon 69ers booed when Harry Cool was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dani Clack didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Harry Cool getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Jacobs Rosenboom hit a great ball. In the 96th minute, Michel Manche ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Douglas Watts was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. The Harry Cool supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Harry Cool would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
