In the 9th minute, Edwardo Marsland reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Patrice Sénéchal. The goal made the score 1-0. Massimo Rocchetti kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. After 14 played minutes Saint Côme de Fresné got a freekick which was hit by Henri Quesada. After having played for 19 minutes, Chuck Claringbold managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manly FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chuck Claringbold was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Manly FC's Gregory Pegrum played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christophe Dugas in the 22nd minute of play. In the 23rd minute of the match Saint Côme de Fresné got a corner. Manly FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luc Boulogne ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Saint Côme de Fresné's corner Luc Boulogne fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Gregory Pegrum quite easily take care of the ball. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Bruno Mosley took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Patrice Sénéchal to make any attempt to save it. With 47 minutes on the clock, Jarvis Rizzardo commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 47 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Manly FC! Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Bruno Mosley made the kick off in the second half.
