The crowd rose to their feet as Isac Walmarsson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jimi Nyrhinen. That made the score 3-0 in the 12 minute of play. Teemu Valkealahti made in the 17th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Newcastle United F.C.'s Greger Björklund. The audience thought a goal was coming when Isac Walmarsson got free with Jimi Nyrhinen in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 19th minute, Isac Walmarsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jimi Nyrhinen was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Jimi Nyrhinen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isac Walmarsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jimi Nyrhinen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Isac Walmarsson's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. Jimi Nyrhinen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Isac Walmarsson in the 29th minute. In the 31st minute, Per Trillkott got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Palloketut's Uljas Heinola got a free kick in the 32nd minute. In the 32nd minute of the match Eric Lustig sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jimi Nyrhinen skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of Newcastle United F.C. booed when Palloketut was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Salomon Itäluoma didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rami Lehto kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. If Isac Walmarsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Isac Walmarsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Jimi Nyrhinen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

If Teemu Valkealahti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isac Walmarsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 59 minutes into the game, Newcastle United F.C.'s Isac Walmarsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jimi Nyrhinen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. Jimi Nyrhinen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Håkan Åkesson in the 86th minute of play. Per Trillkott fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jimi Nyrhinen having to interfere.
