With 15 minutes on the clock, Cazimir Postolache commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 15 played minutes GoooooooooooooooooooooooL got a freekick which was hit by Cazimir Postolache. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dinu Slicaru during the 16th minute. Gelu Ţintea was out of position in the 20 minute of play, and Afonso Paraíba capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Afonso Paraíba really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. 23 minutes into the match, GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's goalkeeper Gelu Ţintea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luiz Fernando Pena. Gelu Ţintea came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Clube do Remo MZ's Benjamin Tande. But to his dismay, Benjamin Tande quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. If Luca Enciu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yan Barros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dinu Slicaru, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Yan Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristinel Patriciu in the 42nd minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dinu Slicaru stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Yan Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristinel Patriciu in the 55th minute of play. Hortêncio de Lima hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Yan Barros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dinu Slicaru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 60th minute Afonso Paraíba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gelu Ţintea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Yan Barros made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Dinu Slicaru sent off a good shot on target. Gelu Ţintea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afonso Paraíba in the 68th minute of play. After 72 played minutes Clube do Remo MZ got a freekick which was hit by Walmyr Dionísio. After a defensive mix-up in Clube do Remo MZ's zone, Dinu Slicaru stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yan Barros came out of the goal and Dinu Slicaru tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 75th minute Cristinel Patriciu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yan Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Grigore Posteucă charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Grigore Posteucă the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 86th minute Cristinel Patriciu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yan Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 87 minutes, Dumitru Tănăsie mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the GoooooooooooooooooooooooL and the Clube do Remo MZ players grew even worse after the yellow card. Dumitru Tănăsie hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's Gelu Ţintea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonso Paraíba in the 94th minute of play. Clube do Remo MZ's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
