U. de Tarapacá's Eusebio Portillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gigel Nichita in the 20th minute of play. Bartolomé Romero kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, U. de Tarapacá's Sobah Zorrilla got a free kick in the 32nd minute. In the 37th minute of the match Xalvador Quijada shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edgar Gurlui showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Alin Frânculescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eusebio Portillo. U. de Tarapacá's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alin Frânculescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Pedro Tomás Berau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pedro Tomás Berau stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Pedro Tomás Berau shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Gurlui saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the C Ａ R D I N Ａ L defense, Pedro Tomás Berau kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edgar Gurlui. The C Ａ R D I N Ａ L fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edgar Gurlui should have stopped the shot. The supporters of C Ａ R D I N Ａ L booed when U. de Tarapacá was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sobah Zorrilla didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 57 played minutes U. de Tarapacá got a freekick which was hit by Alonso Venturino. After a defensive mix-up in U. de Tarapacá's zone, Gabriel Gherase stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eusebio Portillo came out of the goal and Gabriel Gherase tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eusebio Portillo made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Alin Frânculescu sent off a good shot on target. In the 65th minute Alin Frânculescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eusebio Portillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The C Ａ R D I N Ａ L fans' excitement grew in the 65th match minute when C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's Alin Frânculescu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a rather tough play, C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's Gigel Nichita got a free kick in the 67th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Norberto Juarez in the 68th minute of play forced C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's goalkeeper Edgar Gurlui to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edgar Gurlui showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Tomás Berau in the 70th minute of the match. U. de Tarapacá's Eusebio Portillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alin Frânculescu in the 77th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alfredo Saralegui during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
