Keszi Athletic's György Csordás played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Adolfo Secco in the 5th minute of play. João Adolfo Secco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Dávid Edelényi fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Keszi Athletic's protests and gave Dávid Edelényi a yellow card for diving instead. In the 12th match minute, Keszi Athletic was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dávid Edelényi to maneuver through the defense. György Csordás stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of João Adolfo Secco's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. In the 23rd minute of the match Independente AC got a corner. Keszi Athletic's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jerônimo de Queirós ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Adolfo Secco in the 25th minute of play forced Keszi Athletic's goalkeeper György Csordás to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Keszi Athletic's Attila Károlyi got a free kick in the 25th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, João Adolfo Secco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Independente AC's supporters rose to their feet, but João Adolfo Secco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. György Csordás breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When João Adolfo Secco came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Independente AC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Adolfo Secco couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Keszi Athletic booed when Independente AC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oswaldo Neiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. 34 minutes into the match, Independente AC's goal looked a bit too open when Attila Károlyi came free, but Ramón Meireles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Keszi Athletic defense, João Adolfo Secco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of György Csordás. The Keszi Athletic fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that György Csordás should have stopped the shot. György Csordás showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Telmo Toledo in the 41st minute of the match. In the 42nd minute, Telmo Toledo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Independente AC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 51st minute, Luisinho Paraibano had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Independente AC made a substitution. Claudinho da Cunha replaced Luisinho Paraibano. In the 52nd minute, Arnold Sebestyén hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Independente AC getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. If Telmo Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Keszi Athletic's György Csordás got control of the ball when João Adolfo Secco tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 70thth minute of the game João Adolfo Secco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Keszi Athletic's György Csordás was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Telmo Toledo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. György Csordás came out and tried to block the shot, but Telmo Toledo slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 77th minute. Telmo Toledo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as João Adolfo Secco kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving György Csordás. That made the score 0-6 in the 91 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Keszi Athletic's zone, Víktor Donatello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. György Csordás came out of the goal and Víktor Donatello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Independente AC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
