Kurt Wallengren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto Cordero having to interfere. Islas FC's Narciso Acevedo was substituted for Fabio Ebardo. Valdemar Anselius made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gerardo Paio in the 47th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Gerardo Paio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valdemar Anselius read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play.
