Vinicio Hulberto's late challenge caught a Sydney FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vinicio Hulberto helped the player get up and apologised. Vinicio Hulberto kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Santiago Urtsin was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Merten Kilic. Santiago Urtsin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcello Karger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Klaus Mogg struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Santiago Urtsin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sydney FC. ♦Diabetes♦'s Santiago Urtsin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcello Karger in the 13th minute of play. With a little luck, ♦Diabetes♦'s Santiago Urtsin got control of the ball when Marcello Karger tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of ♦Diabetes♦ booed when Sydney FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernhard Butenschön didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sydney FC's Rasmus Gölz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Duardo in the 23rd minute of play. Santiago Urtsin acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 29th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Merten Kilic. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Klaus Mogg in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Santiago Urtsin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A hard shot by Merten Kilic from long distance, 38 minutes into the match, got Santiago Urtsin's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Albino Fliz charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Albino Fliz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Vinicio Hulberto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Gervasio Mattin kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. In the 54th minute, Richard Clemens got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 57th minute, one of ♦Diabetes♦:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for ♦Diabetes♦. Sydney FC made a substitution. Tizian Borutta replaced Merten Kilic. Klaus Mogg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Santiago Urtsin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Santiago Urtsin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henrik Reifer in the 68th minute of play. After having played for 71 minutes, Marcello Karger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sydney FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcello Karger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 74 played minutes Sydney FC got a freekick which was hit by Henrik Reifer. ♦Diabetes♦'s Gonzalo Oliverio got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Santiago Urtsin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Klaus Mogg, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. 81 minutes into the match, ♦Diabetes♦'s goal looked a bit too open when Henrik Reifer came free, but Santiago Urtsin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 82 minutes into the game, Richard Clemens was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sydney FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ♦Diabetes♦ the free kick. A collision led to Sydney FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Richard Clemens hit a great ball. Santiago Urtsin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Richard Clemens, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. In the 87th minute, Isaias Luke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of ♦Diabetes♦ booed when Sydney FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tizian Borutta didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Casimiro Jenaro in the 91st minute really tested Rasmus Gölz's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. There was no doubt that Sydney FC were the better team. Sydney FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
