Folker Ubels was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Into Vihermäki showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 8 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Lemel SV's zone, Into Vihermäki stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Folker Ubels came out of the goal and Into Vihermäki tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Gerard Keupink managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lemel SV's supporters rose to their feet, but Gerard Keupink was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Terho Ylimäki breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 18 minutes into the game, Ton Janus was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lemel SV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Manchester United FC the free kick. In the 19th match minute, Lemel SV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ton Janus to maneuver through the defense. Into Vihermäki received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Folker Ubels tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Manchester United FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jacques Brinke came free, but Terho Ylimäki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 28 minutes into the game, Jacques Brinke cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Terho Ylimäki was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 36th minute, Jacques Brinke made a precise shot to the right of Terho Ylimäki. Manchester United FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Simon Swart hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. In the 45th match minute, Lemel SV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Koos Teunissen to maneuver through the defense. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Juha Jokiranta made a kick off. Terho Ylimäki made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jacques Brinke in the 52nd minute. Koos Teunissen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Terho Ylimäki read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Terho Ylimäki made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Gerard Keupink sent off a good shot on target. 64 minutes into the match, Manchester United FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jacques Brinke came free, but Terho Ylimäki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
