The audience was convinced that Karsten Brandes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Per Lång was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. Benedikt Altpeter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John Mellbad, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 14 minutes into the game, Bernhard Nordhaus cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Per Lång was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 17 minutes of play, Nolmyra FC's Börge Modig made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benedikt Altpeter was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by John Mellbad in the 20th minute of play forced FC Traktor Götz's goalkeeper Benedikt Altpeter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Juan Pietsch's late challenge caught a Nolmyra FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juan Pietsch helped the player get up and apologised. Juan Pietsch kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. After having played for 32 minutes, Michael Lööf managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nolmyra FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Michael Lööf was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Egon Buttgereit kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, FC Traktor Götz's Karsten Brandes got a free kick in the 45th minute. After 47 played minutes Nolmyra FC got a freekick which was hit by Hans Allbom. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell John Mellbad to make the kick off. In the 56th minute, FC Traktor Götz's Erik Gnann seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Erik Gnann the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of FC Traktor Götz protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Erik Gnann had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. FC Traktor Götz's Benedikt Altpeter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michael Lööf in the 58th minute of play. Hans Thees charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hans Thees the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Benedikt Altpeter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michael Lööf in the 66th minute of play. Henry Beyersdorf charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Henry Beyersdorf the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, FC Traktor Götz's Henry Beyersdorf got a free kick in the 69th minute. When Michael Lööf came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Nolmyra FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Michael Lööf couldn't finish the play. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leo Lång helped the player get up and apologised. Leo Lång was shown his second yellow card after 86 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Nolmyra FC getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Leo Lång hit a great ball. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Nolmyra FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
