The supporters of FC St. Pauli booed when The Beatles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gláuber Lopez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19thth minute of the game Adriano Berger who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but The Beatles's Christiano de Toledo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 26th minute Adriano Berger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christiano de Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 28th minute, Haroldo Rezende hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 29thth minute of the game Adriano Berger who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but The Beatles's Christiano de Toledo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Adriano Berger blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Christiano de Toledo having to make a save. Manuel Cabral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Didi Quadros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Christiano de Toledo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adriano Berger went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adriano Berger to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Adriano Berger's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Christiano de Toledo was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. FC St. Pauli's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Luiz Trevisan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christiano de Toledo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 80 minutes into the game, Adriano Berger recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Christiano de Toledo. Adriano Berger showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. Christiano de Toledo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adriano Berger's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Didi Quadros during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 95 played minutes The Beatles got a freekick which was hit by Didi Quadros. FC St. Pauli's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
