Erubiel Herrera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vinícius Macedo having to interfere. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Vinícius Macedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudio Eneko in the 17th minute of play. In the 22nd minute of the match Dionisia got a corner. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Marcial Jeraldo ran over to the corner to take the kick. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Aníbal Recife shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 29th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Denis Kemen but with some difficulty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Paulo Fantini in the 34th minute of play forced Dionisia's goalkeeper Denis Kemen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41stth minute of the game Claudio Eneko who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Vinícius Macedo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dionisia were awarded a corner in the 42th minute after Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marcial Jeraldo took the corner. Rogério Teixeira kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. 47 minutes into the match, Dionisia's goalkeeper Denis Kemen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anselmo Negri. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
