The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Academia 1903's Hélio Mangueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmond Boureau in the 3rd minute of play. When Edmond Boureau came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Ciseski‘s fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmond Boureau couldn't finish the play. Timoteo Columbo took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cido Varela. Cido Varela dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 14 minutes into the game, Roberto Romário cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Hélio Mangueira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hélio Mangueira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roberto Romário in the 21st minute. Ciseski‘s's Edmond Boureau got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Roberto Romário could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Hélio Mangueira made a huge save. Timoteo Columbo took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cido Varela. Cido Varela dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. In the 33rdth minute of the game Timoteo Columbo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ciseski‘s's Cido Varela was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Filipe da Fonseca hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Cido Varela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Timoteo Columbo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Hélio Mangueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roberto Romário in the 52nd minute of the match. Academia 1903 made a substitution. Gérard Magyar replaced Harald Ek. Academia 1903 made a substitution. Nicanor Morenø replaced Timoteo Columbo. In the 57th match minute, Academia 1903 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco Rincón to maneuver through the defense. A throw-in in the 60th minute of the game was made by Thiago Silvar with Roberto Romário as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nicanor Morenø got free with Cido Varela in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 65 minutes into the match, Ciseski‘s's goalkeeper Cido Varela had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nicanor Morenø. 71 minutes into the match, Jeremias Ezkerra dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Cido Varela, 1-5. Hélio Mangueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roberto Romário in the 75th minute of play. Ciseski‘s's Cido Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicanor Morenø in the 78th minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Ciseski‘s's goal looked a bit too open when Nicanor Morenø came free, but Cido Varela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Ciseski‘s defense, Nicanor Morenø kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cido Varela. The Ciseski‘s fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cido Varela should have stopped the shot. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Academia 1903 eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
