But to his dismay, Marcelo Cordero quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Gláuber Brodel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelo Cordero, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. 42 minutes into the match, Morro Grande E.C's goal looked a bit too open when Marcelo Cordero came free, but Gláuber Brodel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 45th minute of the game Jorge Sá made a throw-in which Kaká Sampaio played forward. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's Andrew Robertson got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gláuber Brodel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelo Cordero, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. In the 62nd match minute, Morro Grande E.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Toninho Grau to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Marcelo Cordero's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gláuber Brodel was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Morro Grande E.C's Toninho Caca-Rato got a free kick in the 64th minute. When Martín Ferreyra came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martín Ferreyra couldn't finish the play. Dražen Ladić made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Habib Ali Picavea in the 69th minute of play. The supporters of Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT booed when Morro Grande E.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Sá didn't get a good kick on the ball. Toninho Caca-Rato made in the 74th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Jorge Sá however managed to control. An unexpectedly hard shot by Haroldo Alfonso in the 76th minute of play forced Morro Grande E.C's goalkeeper Gláuber Brodel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 83 played minutes Morro Grande E.C got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Sá. After 85 minutes of play, Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's Haroldo Alfonso made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gláuber Brodel was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Marcos Ramalho fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Morro Grande E.C's protests and gave Marcos Ramalho a yellow card for diving instead. In the 90th minute, Marcos Ramalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Hélder Velasco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Haroldo Alfonso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Gláuber Brodel made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Haroldo Alfonso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's supporters rose to their feet, but Haroldo Alfonso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gláuber Brodel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fac. de Ed. Fisica UNT's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
