Torstein Solli could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Marian Chilavert made a huge save. William Sommerseth stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ömür Seyfeddin's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. In the 12th minute Gökçek Kolçak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William Sommerseth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th minute Edgar Scislowicz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William Sommerseth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th minute, William Knutsen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marian Chilavert made an important save on a dangerous shot by Torstein Solli in the 17th minute. If Gökçek Kolçak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd minute Ivan Óbolo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marian Chilavert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. William Sommerseth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ömür Seyfeddin in the 25th minute of play. Zagłębie Dąbrowskie's Otto Alberg managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by William Knutsen in the 26 minute of the game. In the 29th minute, Hans-Kristian Aanes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sagene IF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Sagene IF's William Knutsen came free and shot a quick shot against goal 35 minutes in the game, fortunately Marian Chilavert had problems saving as it came toward the left post. 37 minutes into the match, Sagene IF's goal looked a bit too open when Gökçek Kolçak came free, but William Sommerseth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 2-2 became the score in the 40th minute when Ömür Seyfeddin elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Sagene IF's Ivan Óbolo got a free kick in the 46th minute. Ömür Seyfeddin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. William Sommerseth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Karsten Karlsen to make the kick off. In the 50th match minute, Zagłębie Dąbrowskie was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Otto Alberg to maneuver through the defense. In the 51st minute of the match William Knutsen sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marian Chilavert skillfully saved the ball. After some careless play in the Zagłębie Dąbrowskie defense, William Knutsen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marian Chilavert. The Zagłębie Dąbrowskie fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marian Chilavert should have stopped the shot. Through an outstanding action, after 73 minutes, William Sommerseth successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Sagene IF's Oscar Bergum was substituted for Karsten Karlsen. In the 76th minute of the match Zagłębie Dąbrowskie got a corner. Sagene IF's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Wincent Polkoski ran over to the corner to take the kick. Wincent Polkoski made a great header on Zagłębie Dąbrowskie's corner, it was just that Sagene IF's William Sommerseth managed to reach the ball for a save. Marian Chilavert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from William Knutsen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marian Chilavert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hans-Kristian Aanes in the 81st minute of the match. William Sommerseth stood somewhat misplaced when Ömür Seyfeddin came free in front of goal and shot 4-3 to the left of him in the 85 minute. William Sommerseth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgar Scislowicz in the 92nd minute of play. Marian Chilavert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Óbolo in the 94th minute of the match. In the 95th minute, William Knutsen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marian Chilavert was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-3. For all the effort they put into the match, the Zagłębie Dąbrowskie players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Sagene IF.
