Alix Geoffray made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zigmantas Gimbutas in the 3rd minute of play. Zigmantas Gimbutas might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alix Geoffray. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zigmantas Gimbutas ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, SC Braga's Antonio Adán got control of the ball when Toufik Loir tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 9 minutes of play, SC Braga's Zigmantas Gimbutas made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alix Geoffray was left in no man's land by his defense there! Alix Geoffray showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zigmantas Gimbutas, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. After some careless play in the Rathmore Lime Tree defense, Zigmantas Gimbutas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alix Geoffray. The Rathmore Lime Tree fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alix Geoffray should have stopped the shot. In the 17th minute, Zigmantas Gimbutas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Edgar Figari received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Alix Geoffray tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SC Braga's Zigmantas Gimbutas got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 23rd minute of the match, Toufik Loir got a very nice opportunity to score, but Antonio Adán was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Erwann Bray charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Erwann Bray the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of SC Braga booed when Rathmore Lime Tree was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erwann Bray didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yves Robinet in the 31st minute of play forced SC Braga's goalkeeper Antonio Adán to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zigmantas Gimbutas scored 0-3 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alix Geoffray, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zigmantas Gimbutas in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alix Geoffray prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 46 minutes into the match, SC Braga's goalkeeper Antonio Adán had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yves Robinet.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zigmantas Gimbutas was the one to do the kick off. Alix Geoffray showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zigmantas Gimbutas, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Zigmantas Gimbutass short, quick shot in the 55thth minute got Alix Geoffray to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Rathmore Lime Tree's Pierre-Antoine Fouche was substituted for Toufik Loir. Zigmantas Gimbutas took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alix Geoffray. Alix Geoffray dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Alix Geoffray made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Zigmantas Gimbutas sent off a good shot on target. 69 minutes into the game, Fabien Ayache was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rathmore Lime Tree's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Braga the free kick. After a rather tough play, Rathmore Lime Tree's Fabien Ayache got a free kick in the 69th minute. SC Braga's Donato Sampaio was substituted for Edgar Figari. Alix Geoffray made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zigmantas Gimbutas in the 72nd minute. SC Braga's Adalberto Soeiro managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Gabin Lièvin in the 73 minute of the game. With a little luck, Rathmore Lime Tree's Alix Geoffray got control of the ball when Zigmantas Gimbutas tried to sneak it across the goal line. SC Braga's André Jordão got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Walter Texier kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Donato Sampaio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Rathmore Lime Tree fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. SC Braga were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
