Montes Quevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Natalio Centenales in the 23rd minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, Aurelio Rivas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cláudio Taffarel. AKÇEŞMESPOR's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aurelio Rivas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Montes Quevedo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Natalio Centenales's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. With an all-out effort, AKÇEŞMESPOR's Montes Quevedo threw himself towards the right post 31 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Meriç Özsen, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Fetiyerd's Montes Quevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Meriç Özsen in the 32nd minute of play. In the 35th minute Natalio Centenales shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Montes Quevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, AKÇEŞMESPOR's goal looked a bit too open when Aurelio Rivas came free, but Cláudio Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Montes Quevedo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. In the 46th minute Carlos Alcaraz suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. 46 minutes into the game, Charlie Frisk was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AKÇEŞMESPOR's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fetiyerd the free kick. Charlie Frisk kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. The AKÇEŞMESPOR players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Fetiyerd were winning 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aurelio Rivas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The throw-in from Charlie Frisk in the 51st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Fetiyerd's Raymond Litago. Cláudio Taffarel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. After a defensive mix-up in AKÇEŞMESPOR's zone, Aurelio Rivas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cláudio Taffarel came out of the goal and Aurelio Rivas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Yago Barrera hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Montes Quevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Meriç Özsen in the 75th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Natalio Centenales in the 86th minute of play forced Fetiyerd's goalkeeper Montes Quevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aurelio Rivas succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-5 in the 87th playminute. The AKÇEŞMESPOR manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Fetiyerd to win.
