Jonathan Sammut took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Célio do Valle. Célio do Valle dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Templars FC's Francileudo Faarø managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Claudinho Duarte in the 13 minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jonathan Sammut got free with Célio do Valle in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Stanislaw Koczara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Célio do Valle made a huge save. In the 21stth minute of the game Stanislaw Koczara who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Xapetuba Futebol Clube's Célio do Valle was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 23 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Xapetuba Futebol Clube! The crowd rose to their feet as Stanislaw Koczara kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Célio do Valle. That made the score 2-0 in the 34 minute of play. 36 minutes into the game, Xapetuba Futebol Clube's Patrick Neiva nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. André Courtois made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Templars FC's Jonathan Sammut slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Célio do Valle. That made the score 3-1 after 43 minutes of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Patrick Neiva to make the kick off. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Xapetuba Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Célio do Valle, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Laerte Ramalho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but André Courtois was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. André Courtois showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laerte Ramalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute.
