The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Valdir Pérez came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by A. A. SAQUAREMA's Benjamin Brereton. But to his dismay, Benjamin Brereton quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The A. A. SAQUAREMA fans' excitement grew in the 6th match minute when A. A. SAQUAREMA's Benjamin Brereton looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Valdir Pérez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Waldir Fernandez in the 9th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benjamin Brereton in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valdir Pérez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, A. A. SAQUAREMA's Leonel Seco got a free kick in the 13th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Waldir Fernandez in the 15th minute of play forced União Verde FC's goalkeeper Valdir Pérez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute, Benjamin Brereton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dedé Salles in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valdir Pérez saved União Verde FC from getting behind. In the 28th minute, André Simões had to leave the field with a concussion. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Toninho Tavares during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A. A. SAQUAREMA's Flavinho Queirós was substituted for André Simões. After 36th play minutes Waldir Fernandez shot 0-4, a short shot which went by Valdir Pérez and just under the crossbar into goal. Waldir Fernandez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Valdir Pérez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Benjamin Brereton in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valdir Pérez saved União Verde FC from getting behind. 47 minutes into the match, União Verde FC's goal looked a bit too open when Waldir Fernandez came free, but Valdir Pérez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The União Verde FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. A. A. SAQUAREMA were winning 0-4.

A hard shot 51 in the game by Benjamin Brereton from a close distance when the talented Valdir Pérez managed to make a qualified save. União Verde FC's players were relieved. Valdir Pérez was a little too slow when Benjamin Brereton got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 52nd minute. The score was now 0-5. In the 64th match minute, União Verde FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernandão Loyola to maneuver through the defense. Valdir Pérez was out of position in the 66 minute of play, and Benjamin Brereton capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Benjamin Brereton really showed his touch with that goal: 0-7. When Benjamin Brereton came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the A. A. SAQUAREMA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benjamin Brereton couldn't finish the play. Benjamin Brereton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Valdir Pérez managed to avoid a goal in the 80thth minute, when A. A. SAQUAREMA's Benjamin Brereton fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpected shot in the 83rd minute by Benjamin Brereton got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Benjamin Brereton's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Valdir Pérez firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 88th play minute Benjamin Brereton came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Valdir Pérez. 0-11. Thanks to some nice moves Benjamin Brereton could shoot a difficult shot in the 94th minute, which Valdir Pérez however easily saved by the left post. After a rather tough play, A. A. SAQUAREMA's Benjamin Brereton got a free kick in the 96th minute.
