Spectators: 147 (Terracing: 111, Seating: 34, VIP seats: 2) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Sven-Hendrik Ohmer kicked off to start the match. Pavel Chivu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sven-Hendrik Ohmer in the 3rd minute. In the 4th minute, Omar Guichard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 7th minute, Sven-Hendrik Ohmer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The C.A.Esparta fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. David Beckham's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Pavel Chivu firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 12th minute Sven-Hendrik Ohmer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pavel Chivu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gervasio Tebaldo made in the 14th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by C.A.Esparta's Ronaldo Queirós. Devoto club social's defense didn't have a chance, in the 16th minute, when Luis Galván scored to the left of an out of position Pavel Chivu, making the score, 2-0. 22 minutes into the match, C.A.Esparta's goal looked a bit too open when Desiderio Galsino came free, but Evelio Salvadore reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Desiderio Galsino in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Evelio Salvadore saved C.A.Esparta from getting behind. In the 24th minute, Cleto Ruisko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. C.A.Esparta's Omar Guichard shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 24th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Pavel Chivu but with some difficulty. After 26 minutes of play, C.A.Esparta's Sven-Hendrik Ohmer made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pavel Chivu was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Sven-Hendrik Ohmer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Devoto club social's Pavel Chivu got control of the ball when David Beckham tried to sneak it across the goal line. David Beckham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. David Beckham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Pavel Chivu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gervasio Tebaldo's late challenge caught a C.A.Esparta's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gervasio Tebaldo helped the player get up and apologised. Gervasio Tebaldo hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Devoto club social defense, David Beckham kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pavel Chivu. The Devoto club social fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pavel Chivu should have stopped the shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Desiderio Galsino made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven-Hendrik Ohmer in the 56th minute of play forced Devoto club social's goalkeeper Pavel Chivu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th minute, Sven-Hendrik Ohmer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 60th minute Desiderio Galsino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evelio Salvadore saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61st minute, Sven-Hendrik Ohmer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Pavel Chivu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven-Hendrik Ohmer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sven-Hendrik Ohmer in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pavel Chivu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. C.A.Esparta's Julio Chus was substituted for Luis Galván. Gervasio Tebaldo got a throw-in 68 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Eustacio Iyan. After a rather tough play, C.A.Esparta's Ronaldo Queirós got a free kick in the 69th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oswaldo Junior in the 73rd minute of play forced Devoto club social's goalkeeper Pavel Chivu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. C.A.Esparta's Froilan Nerio was substituted for Omar Guichard. The supporters of C.A.Esparta booed when Devoto club social was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victor Harri didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pavel Chivu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oswaldo Junior in the 82nd minute of the match. If Oswaldo Junior had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 88th match minute, Devoto club social was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Desiderio Galsino to maneuver through the defense. Pavel Chivu came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by C.A.Esparta's David Beckham. But to his dismay, David Beckham quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. Pavel Chivu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oswaldo Junior's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. In the 97th minute, Oswaldo Junior got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. C.A.Esparta's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
