The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Vila Industrial FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jim Njurenius came free, but Rony Zanette reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wang Fei Xing scored 1-0 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eric Soned, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Rony Zanette made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomasz Jakubowski in the 8th minute of play. In the 10th minute Jim Njurenius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rony Zanette saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the last second Eric Soned throw himself and got hold of the ball when Wang Fei Xing in the 12thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Wang Fei Xing blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eric Soned having to make a save. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Eric Soned proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Étoile Sportive Du Sahel from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Carlo Ancelotti put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Rony Zanette. 28 minutes into the match, Vila Industrial FC's goal looked a bit too open when Carlo Ancelotti came free, but Rony Zanette reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eric Soned stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wang Fei Xing's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. In the 34th minute Wang Fei Xing shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Soned saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 40th minute of the match, Wang Fei Xing tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Eric Soned saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carlo Ancelotti during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 44 played minutes Étoile Sportive Du Sahel got a freekick which was hit by Carlo Ancelotti. A collision led to Étoile Sportive Du Sahel getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Per-Arne Gunnarsson hit a great ball. Wang Fei Xing received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Eric Soned tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Radu Fetea to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vila Industrial FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jim Njurenius was slow to take the kick. During this time Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's players had a chance to rest. Morgan Möllgren was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Vila Industrial FC's Rony Zanette proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Vila Industrial FC from getting a goal against them. If Jarvis Cock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Wang Fei Xing recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vila Industrial FC's Délio Moura was substituted for Wang Fei Xing. Eric Soned made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Délio Moura in the 66th minute of play. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Folke Vallman was substituted for Henning Ekström. After 69 minutes Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Shao Guo Sha who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Shao Guo Sha got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Eric Soned quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Eric Soned came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Vila Industrial FC's Délio Moura. But to his dismay, Délio Moura quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Vila Industrial FC's Rony Zanette proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Vila Industrial FC from getting a goal against them. 77 minutes into the match, Vila Industrial FC's goal looked a bit too open when Morgan Möllgren came free, but Rony Zanette reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 81st minute Jim Njurenius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rony Zanette saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roberto Cibran hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Folke Vallman got a free kick in the 86th minute. Jim Njurenius could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Rony Zanette made a huge save. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Vila Industrial FC had won, even though Étoile Sportive Du Sahel had held more of the ball.
