Wawrzyniec Walicki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yin Li Ying, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 2 minutes into the match, Yin Li Ying had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wawrzyniec Walicki. Esbjerg fB's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Yin Li Ying was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. If Yin Li Ying had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 14 minutes of play, Esbjerg fB's Rune Griffenfeld made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ionică Corcoveanu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ib Dalsted hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Esbjerg fB's Wawrzyniec Walicki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Philip Walter in the 20th minute of play. Wawrzyniec Walicki made an important save on a dangerous shot by Filip Pantiș in the 23rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Rune Griffenfeld managed to get in a good position for a shot. Esbjerg fB's supporters rose to their feet, but Rune Griffenfeld was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ionică Corcoveanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 28 minutes into the game, Yin Li Ying recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Wawrzyniec Walicki. Yin Li Ying showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yin Li Ying in the 30th minute of play forced Esbjerg fB's goalkeeper Wawrzyniec Walicki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Esbjerg fB's Wawrzyniec Walicki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yin Li Ying in the 33rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Esbjerg fB's Iver Tardorf got a free kick in the 36th minute. In the 40th minute Yin Li Ying shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wawrzyniec Walicki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Filip Pantiș got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 44 minutes, Yin Li Ying managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Eintracht Cernavoda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yin Li Ying was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rune Griffenfeld stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The attack was good, but when Filip Pantiș in the 51st minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. 58 minutes into the game, Eintracht Cernavoda's Yin Li Ying nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wawrzyniec Walicki made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Eintracht Cernavoda made a substitution. Mikael Isak replaced Filip Pantiș. Eintracht Cernavoda's Ioan Ortacu was substituted for Octav Ignat. After a defensive mix-up in Esbjerg fB's zone, Mikael Isak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wawrzyniec Walicki came out of the goal and Mikael Isak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Esbjerg fB's Mourits Wermelin was substituted for Henry Rudbøg. Wawrzyniec Walicki didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Yin Li Ying went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score.
