Armando Paredes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ascencio Quintas in the 17th minute of play. Ascencio Quintas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Paredes having to interfere. In the 27th minute Viorel Creangă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wincent Koczara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wincent Koczara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Viorel Creangă, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31st minute, Viorel Creangă ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wincent Koczara was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in ZAFIRO FC's zone, Ascencio Quintas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Armando Paredes came out of the goal and Ascencio Quintas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When ZAFIRO FC's Gonzalo Maldonado in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vetusta's goalie prevented a goal. In the 42nd match minute, ZAFIRO FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gonzalo Maldonado to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ascencio Quintas was the one to do the kick off. Armando Paredes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 58 minutes into the match, ZAFIRO FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ascencio Quintas came free, but Armando Paredes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Maximo Argina made a great header on ZAFIRO FC's corner, it was just that Vetusta's Wincent Koczara managed to reach the ball for a save.
