After 29 minutes, Vitório Soeiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zemantauskas FC and the Cats and dogs players grew even worse after the yellow card. Vitório Soeiro hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Sílvio Penha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kader Miguet in the 30th minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Christophe Montaigne reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sílvio Penha. The goal made the score 2-0. The Zemantauskas FC fans' excitement grew in the 39th match minute when Zemantauskas FC's Marco de Sousa looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Gaétan Toullec showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marco de Sousa in the 46th minute of the match. In the 48th minute, Marco de Sousa made a precise shot to the right of Gaétan Toullec. Cats and dogs's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

After a rather tough play, Cats and dogs's Nicolas Philibert got a free kick in the 56th minute. 61 minutes into the game, Serginho Simões threw the ball into play from the sideline. Cats and dogs's Nicolas Philibert quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kader Miguet in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. One of Cats and dogs:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Zemantauskas FC:s goal. The goalkeeper, Gaétan Toullec, was totally fooled by Zemantauskas FC's Carlos de Amorim, who 73 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Marco de Sousa was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 80th minute. Zemantauskas FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Cats and dogs lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
