Tacheros de Buenos Aires's Gregorio Lehior proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Tacheros de Buenos Aires from getting a goal against them. Julio Elivareo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gregorio Lehior having to interfere. In the 21st minute Isaac Bittor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caio Torrecillas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claes Anundsson in the 26th minute of play forced Defensores de Belén's goalkeeper Caio Torrecillas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Babür Kongurtay managed to get in a good position for a shot. Defensores de Belén's supporters rose to their feet, but Babür Kongurtay was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gregorio Lehior breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 32 minutes into the match, Defensores de Belén's goal looked a bit too open when Fortunato De Laurentiis came free, but Caio Torrecillas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Isaac Bittor ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Caio Torrecillas was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julio Elivareo got free with Gregorio Lehior in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Defensores de Belén defense, Isaac Bittor kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Caio Torrecillas. The Defensores de Belén fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Caio Torrecillas should have stopped the shot. Caio Torrecillas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fortunato De Laurentiis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Babür Kongurtay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Caio Torrecillas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isaac Bittor in the 45th minute of play. In the 46th minute, Fortunato De Laurentiis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Caio Torrecillas was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Isaac Bittor made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fortunato De Laurentiis got free with Caio Torrecillas in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Tacheros de Buenos Aires getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Zbyszek Scigan hit a great ball. Florentino Lesardo hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Gregorio Lehior took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julio Elivareo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Caio Torrecillas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan-Ove Tunander in the 63rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Tacheros de Buenos Aires's Florentino Lesardo got a free kick in the 64th minute. Damaso Cefero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Babür Kongurtay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Gregorio Lehior tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 74 minutes Defensores de Belén's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ali Haydar Tolgunay who took care of the corner kick. Ali Haydar Tolgunay made a great header on Tacheros de Buenos Aires's corner, it was just that Defensores de Belén's Caio Torrecillas managed to reach the ball for a save. Gaudencio Poncio tried in the game's 75th match minute to clear up in front of his own goal but it went so bad that he put the ball into the goal to the left of an unhappy Caio Torrecillas. Defensores de Belén's players were relieved. 83 minutes into the match, Defensores de Belén's goal looked a bit too open when Isaac Bittor came free, but Caio Torrecillas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gregorio Lehior made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julio Elivareo in the 86th minute of play. In the 87th minute, Jan-Ove Tunander hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Tacheros de Buenos Aires's zone, Babür Kongurtay stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gregorio Lehior came out of the goal and Babür Kongurtay tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tacheros de Buenos Aires played a much better game than Defensores de Belén and deserved their victory. The Defensores de Belén players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
