The GuateFortín players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Gastres FC were winning 0-2.

Pedro Pelayo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven-Edvin Jansson, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. 56 minutes into the match, Gastres FC's goal looked a bit too open when Zico Zellier came free, but Pedro Pelayo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 78th minute Teobaldo Belmiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nery Pumpido saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Pelayo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stanyo Búnkov in the 83rd minute of play.
