In the 4th minute, Tomas Lucero ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dante Fernendo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 7 minutes into the match, Paso FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ademar Rocha came free, but Máximo Portero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Oktay Eğriöz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paso FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Oktay Eğriöz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dante Fernendo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oktay Eğriöz in the 21st minute of play forced Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Dante Fernendo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Paso FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
