The supporters of FC Jena-Nord 02 booed when Hornbosteler SV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernhard Gronau didn't get a good kick on the ball. FC Jena-Nord 02's Eric McThomas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edwin Van den Bossche in the 6th minute of play. Dainius Jurkus made an important save on a dangerous shot by Froilan Furtado in the 8th minute. In the 13th minute FC Jena-Nord 02 were awarded a corner. Nessos Andreoulakis went to the cornerflag to take it. Froilan Furtado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Dainius Jurkus made a huge save. With a little luck, Hornbosteler SV's Dainius Jurkus got control of the ball when Leroy Rösch tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Froilan Furtado fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Froilan Furtado hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Raiko Kündgen in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dainius Jurkus saved Hornbosteler SV from getting behind. In the 25thth minute of the game Raiko Kündgen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hornbosteler SV's Dainius Jurkus was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 31st minute, FC Jena-Nord 02's Leroy Rösch dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hornbosteler SV's goalkeeper Dainius Jurkus, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dainius Jurkus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leroy Rösch, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Philipp Darmstadt fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hornbosteler SV's protests and gave Philipp Darmstadt a yellow card for diving instead. Hornbosteler SV were furious when Bernhard Gronau was red carded, 45 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests.
