Niklas Sauter yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. 24 minutes into the match, Olympique Fribourg's goal looked a bit too open when Reinhard Borkmann came free, but Patrick Knechtli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 31 minutes into the game, Niko Schulz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Olympique Fribourg the free kick. If Junior Adamu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patrick Knechtli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reinhard Borkmann in the 35th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vladimir Stengert in the 39th minute of play forced Olympique Fribourg's goalkeeper Patrick Knechtli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Téo Savion couldn't finish the play. When Lino Tempels fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s protests and gave Lino Tempels a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Olympique Fribourg booed when SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lino Tempels didn't get a good kick on the ball. Téo Savion recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 89th minute, Yannik Keitel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Olympique Fribourg were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
