Dexiators's supporters rose to their feet, but Mikael Frykberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Magne Stephansson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dexiators's Jan Bröms played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Martinsson in the 7th minute of play. In the 10th minute, Nils Broman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 14th minute of the match Strömsbro IF got a corner. Dexiators's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ingmar Hellkvist ran over to the corner to take the kick. The supporters of Strömsbro IF booed when Dexiators was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eric Kinell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jan Bröms made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven-Ove Finnman in the 19th minute of play. Jim Björkkvist hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Dexiators's Jan Bröms played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stig-Arne Bollström in the 32nd minute of play. Stig-Arne Bollström took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jan Bröms. Jan Bröms dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven-Ove Finnman in the 43rd minute of play forced Dexiators's goalkeeper Jan Bröms to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Strömsbro IF were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Jan Bröms stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stig-Arne Bollström's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. Jan Bröms made an important save on a dangerous shot by Stig-Arne Bollström in the 69th minute. Stig-Arne Bollström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Strömsbro IF's Manfred Björkdahl was substituted for Sven-Ove Finnman. Jan Bröms was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Stig-Arne Bollström showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 82 minute of play. In the 85th match minute, Strömsbro IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Knut Samuelsson to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Strömsbro IF getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Charles Gadd hit a great ball. When the match clock showed 98 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Stig-Arne Bollström sped through Dexiators's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jan Bröms. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Strömsbro IF had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
