Bennis's Leonardo Jara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kurt Hamrin in the 8th minute of play. In the 16th minute Cai Cheng Sang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronnie Hellström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th minute, Cai Cheng Sang ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ronnie Hellström was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Bennis's Lin Xuan Hai quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Östen Forsman, made in the 20th minute of the game. A collision led to Bennis getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Sven-Åke Granberg hit a great ball. Cai Cheng Sang sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ronnie Hellström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cai Cheng Sang in the 26th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kevin Keegan in the 32nd minute of play forced Bennis's goalkeeper Leonardo Jara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Bennis's Sven-Åke Granberg in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Leonardo Jara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kurt Hamrin, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kevin Keegan to make the kick off. Ronnie Hellström was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cai Cheng Sang showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 56 minute of play. Cai Cheng Sang could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Ronnie Hellström made a huge save. Bennis made a substitution. Roy Vesterberg replaced Aloísio Senna. After 82 played minutes Skövde AIK got a freekick which was hit by Hans Petersson. Ronnie Hellström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eerik Loide, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Bennis's Leonardo Jara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerry Williams in the 91st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pål Uggstedt in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ronnie Hellström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Bennis had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
