Jeremias Seco ran over to the corner to take the kick. The supporters of Esmeraldas S.C. booed when Meninos De Cotia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeremias Seco didn't get a good kick on the ball. İbrahim Volkan might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hugo Rodrigues. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. İbrahim Volkan ran back to his position shaking his head. Hugo Rodrigues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damian Maftei in the 20th minute of the match. İbrahim Volkan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hugo Rodrigues read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. In the 21st minute, İbrahim Volkan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hugo Rodrigues was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Stefanos Terzopoulos took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hugo Rodrigues. Hugo Rodrigues dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 36th minute Esmeraldas S.C. were awarded a corner. Niki Borda went to the cornerflag to take it. Stefanos Terzopoulos struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Hugo Rodrigues didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Esmeraldas S.C.. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stefanos Terzopoulos in the 42nd minute of play forced Meninos De Cotia's goalkeeper Hugo Rodrigues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ghitã Fratea hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Jeremias Seco was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 44th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Esmeraldas S.C.'s Niki Borda got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Henrique Borges was the one to do the kick off. Meninos De Cotia's Oséias Quirino managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Pinto Cubria in the 52 minute of the game. In the 55th minute, Niki Borda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ronaldo Donato hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Damian Maftei could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Hugo Rodrigues made a huge save. It was a well-played corner which Martinez Cines managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. With a little luck, Meninos De Cotia's Hugo Rodrigues got control of the ball when İbrahim Volkan tried to sneak it across the goal line.
