Dumitru Corbea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mădălin Cârnațiu having to interfere. In the 19th minute Ion Şimonca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albert Gherghe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to FC Buzău getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Eduard Zgondea hit a great ball. In the 31st minute, Doru Apostol left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Buzău fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. 34 minutes into the game, FC Buzău's Ion Şimonca nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Albert Gherghe made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ion Şimonca was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, FC Buzău's Pompiliu Gorcea got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 54th minute, Ion Şimonca made a precise shot to the right of Albert Gherghe. -BZF- Viitorul Buzau's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. 57 minutes into the match, Eduard Zgondea had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Albert Gherghe. -BZF- Viitorul Buzau's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eduard Zgondea was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Mădălin Cârnațiu made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Cazimir Papadima sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of -BZF- Viitorul Buzau booed when FC Buzău was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mihăiţă Andrițoiu didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ion Şimonca in the 64th minute of play forced -BZF- Viitorul Buzau's goalkeeper Albert Gherghe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to FC Buzău getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Ciprian Țâpu hit a great ball. Ion Şimonca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Albert Gherghe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, FC Buzău's Pompiliu Gorcea got a free kick in the 74th minute. In the 83rd minute, Ion Şimonca left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Buzău fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. 88 minutes into the match, -BZF- Viitorul Buzau's goal looked a bit too open when Pompiliu Gorcea came free, but Albert Gherghe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 89th minute Emanuel Cernat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albert Gherghe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 93 played minutes -BZF- Viitorul Buzau got a freekick which was hit by Albert Baican. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. FC Buzău fully deserved thier win.
