An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Guilherme Varela in the 5th minute of play forced BK Forward's goalkeeper Freddie Helberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th match minute, BK Forward was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Björn Wennerberg to maneuver through the defense. 9 minutes into the game, Bandelocos's Rafael Sobis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Freddie Helberg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 12th minute Folke Ström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nilson do Vale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ivo Vidal's late challenge caught a BK Forward's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nilson do Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Folke Ström, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. If Marcus Kinell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

After a defensive mix-up in Bandelocos's zone, Åke Käller stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nilson do Vale came out of the goal and Åke Käller tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Luiz Guilherme Varela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Bandelocos booed when BK Forward was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position.
