After 14 minutes, Benjamin Vandekerkhove mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kickers United and the Mundial EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jorge Reijnders was the one to do the kick off. In the 89th match minute, Kickers United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olaf Kochowski to maneuver through the defense. After 90 played minutes, Mundial EC's Şehzade Tecer shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cederik Huts came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mundial EC reached it. Mundial EC were furious when Veysel Tuğkun was red carded, 94 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 93 minutes into the game, one of Mundial EC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 95th minute, Dino Maquiano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Raphael Penha was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. Benjamin Vandekerkhove hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. Mundial EC's Nils Bengtsson got a good chance for a goal in the 99th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Kickers United eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
