The supporters of Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- booed when Hamburg Fighters was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maicon Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. 5 minutes into the match, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Szilárd Újváry came free, but Diki Doro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pavlos Konstantakakis was a little too slow when Zhao Sen Yang got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 8th minute. The score was now 1-0. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- were awarded a corner in the 14th minute after Hamburg Fighters's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Olov Ahlbeck took the corner. After taking down the ball on Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s corner Olov Ahlbeck fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Pavlos Konstantakakis quite easily take care of the ball. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s İlhami Akyazıcı quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Enrico Piccirilli, made in the 17th minute of the game. 18 minutes into the match, Hamburg Fighters's Szilárd Újváry sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Diki Doro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 19th minute Hamburg Fighters were awarded a corner. Szilárd Újváry went to the cornerflag to take it. Hamburg Fighters's Valerian Podlich was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Diki Doro in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If Szilárd Újváry had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zhao Sen Yang succeeded in the game's 25th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. With his leg Pavlos Konstantakakis managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Zhao Sen Yang fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 30th minute, Stasio Bienienda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 32nd minute Gianluca Balla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diki Doro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zhao Sen Yang in the 36th minute of play forced Hamburg Fighters's goalkeeper Pavlos Konstantakakis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 37 minutes Hamburg Fighters's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Olov Ahlbeck who took care of the corner kick. Zhao Sen Yang might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pavlos Konstantakakis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zhao Sen Yang ran back to his position shaking his head. 40 minutes into the match, Hamburg Fighters's goal looked a bit too open when Zhao Sen Yang came free, but Pavlos Konstantakakis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pavlos Konstantakakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stasio Bienienda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Diki Doro came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Hamburg Fighters's Szilárd Újváry. But to his dismay, Szilárd Újváry quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. With a little luck, Hamburg Fighters's Pavlos Konstantakakis got control of the ball when Zhao Sen Yang tried to sneak it across the goal line. The corner ended in Olov Ahlbeck almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Hamburg Fighters's Pavlos Konstantakakis did a great save. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Szilárd Újváry to strike the kick off in the second half. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Zhao Sen Yang got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hamburg Fighters's goalkeeper Pavlos Konstantakakis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 56th minute Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- were awarded a corner. Olov Ahlbeck went to the cornerflag to take it. Dacian Tilea made a great header on Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s corner, it was just that Hamburg Fighters's Pavlos Konstantakakis managed to reach the ball for a save. İlhami Akyazıcı made in the 59th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Hamburg Fighters's Enrico Piccirilli. After 59 played minutes Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- got a freekick which was hit by Primitivo Grau. Pavlos Konstantakakis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zhao Sen Yang in the 62nd minute of the match. Szilárd Újváry could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Diki Doro made a huge save. In the 71st minute Zhao Sen Yang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pavlos Konstantakakis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pavlos Konstantakakis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zhao Sen Yang in the 74th minute of play. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- made a substitution. Grigore Maghiran replaced İlhami Akyazıcı. 77 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hamburg Fighters's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Olov Ahlbeck was slow to take the kick. During this time Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s players had a chance to rest. The corner led Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Olov Ahlbeck to fire away a dangerous shot which Pavlos Konstantakakis despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Zhao Sen Yang came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zhao Sen Yang couldn't finish the play. 90 minutes into the match, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Stasio Bienienda sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pavlos Konstantakakis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 94 minutes into the match, Hamburg Fighters's goal looked a bit too open when Zhao Sen Yang came free, but Pavlos Konstantakakis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
