Ronnie Meck made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Augustus Ingersholm sent off a good shot on target. Einar Klysnov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Torbjörn Nilsson in the 11th minute of the match. In the 12th minute of the match U21 Sweden got a corner. U21 Denmark's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Torbjörn Nilsson ran over to the corner to take the kick. Einar Klysnov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Balthazar Bär, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. With a little luck, U21 Sweden's Ronnie Meck got control of the ball when Sune Heidal tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 25 played minutes U21 Denmark got a freekick which was hit by Hassan Mylting. In the 27th minute of the match Torbjörn Nilsson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Einar Klysnov showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 Denmark's goalkeeper Einar Klysnov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 29th minute U21 Sweden were awarded a corner. Torbjörn Nilsson went to the cornerflag to take it. A collision led to U21 Denmark getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Haakon Grenholt hit a great ball. Einar Klysnov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Balthazar Bär, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 37th minute, Per Söderkvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Einar Klysnov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torbjörn Nilsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. U21 Sweden were awarded a corner in the 42th minute after U21 Denmark's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Torbjörn Nilsson took the corner. Augustus Ingersholm who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 44thth minute tested the skills of Ronnie Meck when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Torbjörn Nilsson's late challenge caught a U21 Denmark's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Torbjörn Nilsson helped the player get up and apologised.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sune Heidal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sune Heidal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ronnie Meck read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. In the 53rd minute of the match U21 Denmark got a corner. U21 Sweden's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Hassan Mylting ran over to the corner to take the kick. The supporters of U21 Denmark booed when U21 Sweden was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henning Gulliksson didn't get a good kick on the ball. U21 Sweden's Ronnie Meck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hassan Mylting in the 54th minute of play. 61 minutes into the game, Stefan Belkå was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Sweden's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Denmark the free kick. In the 61st minute, Stefan Belkå hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. U21 Denmark made a substitution. Asmus Molbo replaced Haakon Grenholt. U21 Sweden's Sven-Olof Hamberg was substituted for Torbjörn Nilsson. U21 Denmark's Rikard Træden was substituted for Augustus Ingersholm. In the 63rd match minute, U21 Sweden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stefan Belkå to maneuver through the defense. U21 Sweden's Ronnie Meck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rikard Træden in the 68th minute of play. Rikard Træden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Einar Klysnov came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Sweden's Ivar Nickov. But to his dismay, Ivar Nickov quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Sven-Olof Hamberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Einar Klysnov made a huge save. After 85 minutes, Stor Back mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Denmark and the U21 Sweden players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 87 minutes of play, U21 Sweden's Sven-Olof Hamberg made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Einar Klysnov was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the U21 Denmark defense, Ivar Nickov kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Einar Klysnov. The U21 Denmark fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Einar Klysnov should have stopped the shot. Einar Klysnov made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Ivar Nickov sent off a good shot on target. U21 Sweden's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
