When the match clock showed 9 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Cormac Dillon sped through Tallboda Gunners's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Henning Hernström. 17 minutes into the game, Arvin Öman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Philip Doyle was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Tallboda Gunners's Henning Hernström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Braulio Martinez in the 22nd minute of play. Henning Hernström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cormac Dillon in the 27th minute of the match. Henning Hernström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cormac Dillon, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. When Leonardo Löv fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tallboda Gunners's protests and gave Leonardo Löv a yellow card for diving instead. Leonardo Löv kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Arvin Öman took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Philip Doyle to make any attempt to save it. Brenda MaCollin hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Ballybunion Celtic F.C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 41st minute, when Karl-Erik Ahlbom scored to the left of an out of position Philip Doyle, making the score, 3-1. In the 48th minute Braulio Martinez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henning Hernström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Philip Doyle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karl-Erik Ahlbom in the 52nd minute of play. Ballybunion Celtic F.C.'s Philip Doyle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arvin Öman in the 53rd minute of play. In the 54th minute, Edwin Gallagher hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Brannon Gillmour in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Henning Hernström saved Tallboda Gunners from getting behind. Henning Hernström made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Brenda MaCollin sent off a good shot on target. Edwin Gallagher's late challenge caught a Tallboda Gunners's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edwin Gallagher helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Tallboda Gunners booed when Ballybunion Celtic F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edwin Gallagher didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 71 minutes, Arvin Öman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tallboda Gunners and the Ballybunion Celtic F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Arvin Öman kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. After 78 played minutes Ballybunion Celtic F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Brenda MaCollin. In the 80th minute, Karl-Erik Ahlbom ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Philip Doyle was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. With an all-out effort, Ballybunion Celtic F.C.'s Henning Hernström threw himself towards the right post 83 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Blamhac Johnson, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Tallboda Gunners's Nils-Åke Broberg got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Brannon Gillmour put it in 4-3 from a short distance just to the right of Henning Hernström. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ballybunion Celtic F.C. players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Tallboda Gunners.
