Belarus were furious when Nester Skabelko was red carded, 58 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Stepan Firago had in the 59thth minute some difficulties stopping Bruno Capello's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball.
