Ricardo van Beek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Washington Andrade, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. G A I S were awarded a corner in the 5th minute after Speurdonk's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Herman Källberg took the corner. The corner led G A I S's Herman Källberg to fire away a dangerous shot which Ricardo van Beek despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 7 played minutes G A I S got a freekick which was hit by John Jernberg. Ricardo van Beek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matthias Bern, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Staffan Eckegren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oswald Van Der Meren in the 15th minute of the match. In the 21st minute, Matthias Bern ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ricardo van Beek was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 27 minutes into the match, G A I S's Matthias Bern sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ricardo van Beek narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Matthias Bern succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 30th playminute. Ricardo van Beek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matthias Bern in the 34th minute of the match. Washington Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo van Beek having to interfere. G A I S's Matthias Bern got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matthias Bern in the 41st minute of play forced Speurdonk's goalkeeper Ricardo van Beek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Oswald Van Der Meren was the one to do the kick off. Ricardo van Beek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matthias Bern in the 55th minute of play. Matthias Bern recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A throw-in in the 60th minute of the game was made by Sixten Ekström with Matthias Bern as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 62 minutes into the match, Speurdonk's goal looked a bit too open when Matthias Bern came free, but Ricardo van Beek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Speurdonk defense, Matthias Bern kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardo van Beek. The Speurdonk fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo van Beek should have stopped the shot. After 65 minutes of play, G A I S's Matthias Bern made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ricardo van Beek was left in no man's land by his defense there! Speurdonk's Ricardo van Beek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matthias Bern in the 69th minute of play. 70 minutes had been played when some careless play by Speurdonk's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Herman Källberg was slow to take the kick. During this time G A I S's players had a chance to rest. G A I S's Herman Källberg was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ricardo van Beek in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 74th minute, Matthias Bern made a precise shot to the right of Ricardo van Beek. Speurdonk's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. Staffan Eckegren made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oswald Van Der Meren in the 79th minute. Kris Waeberghe charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kris Waeberghe the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 82 minutes into the match, G A I S's goalkeeper Staffan Eckegren had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Oswald Van Der Meren. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matthias Bern in the 83rd minute of play forced Speurdonk's goalkeeper Ricardo van Beek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Miguel Lannoye's late challenge caught a G A I S's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Miguel Lannoye helped the player get up and apologised. In the 84th match minute, Speurdonk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Lannoye to maneuver through the defense. Matthias Bern received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Ricardo van Beek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. G A I S fully deserved thier win.
