The supporters of Al-Fajuth booed when JFSP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pietro Sales didn't get a good kick on the ball. JFSP's Võ Gozali played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rômulo Soares in the 25th minute of play. A collision led to Al-Fajuth getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Léo Ortiz hit a great ball. Luiz Eduardo Montenegro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 30th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Édouard Mendy. Al-Fajuth's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Pietro Sales took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Édouard Mendy. Édouard Mendy dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Võ Gozali showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseu Alagoano in the 36th minute of the match. In the 38th minute, Pietro Sales reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Édouard Mendy. The goal made the score 2-2. JFSP's Hermínio Meirelles was substituted for Danilo de Queiroz. 47 minutes into the match, Pietro Sales dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Édouard Mendy, 3-2. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-2 at half-time.

55 minutes into the game, Perivaldo Tinoco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. JFSP's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Al-Fajuth the free kick. In the 55th minute, Perivaldo Tinoco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 75th match minute, JFSP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maurício Pires to maneuver through the defense. JFSP made a substitution. Pedro Paulo Peixoto replaced Hermínio Meirelles. The audience was convinced that Eliseu Alagoano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Võ Gozali was relentless in the 77th minute of the game.
