In the 9th minute, Scarlet Speedster's Fausto Mendonça ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jeremy Nicholas. Jeremy Nicholas yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Jeremy Nicholas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Virgílio Perez in the 13th minute. Scarlet Speedster's Naldo Proença played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tony Pacheco in the 14th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, New England Minas's goal looked a bit too open when Virgílio Perez came free, but Jeremy Nicholas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jeremy Nicholas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fausto Mendonça in the 21st minute of the match. Jeremy Nicholas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Virgílio Perez in the 24th minute. João Severino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Jeremy Nicholas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Scarlet Speedster's Jeremy Nicholas threw himself towards the right post 31 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Fausto Mendonça, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 33rd minute, Edgardo Silva made a precise shot to the right of Naldo Proença. Scarlet Speedster's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. 35 minutes into the match, Scarlet Speedster's goal looked a bit too open when Tony Pacheco came free, but Naldo Proença reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 37 minutes into the match, New England Minas's goal looked a bit too open when Fausto Mendonça came free, but Jeremy Nicholas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Naldo Proença came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by New England Minas's Edgardo Silva. But to his dismay, Edgardo Silva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Virgílio Perez in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jeremy Nicholas saved New England Minas from getting behind. Naldo Proença didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edgardo Silva went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edgardo Silva to make the kick off. Jeremy Nicholas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgílio Perez, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. When Scarlet Speedster's Virgílio Perez in 55 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Jeremy Nicholas guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. New England Minas's attentive Conny Tingberg managed to snatch the ball when Tomas Wallin made a throw-in in the 59th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edgardo Silva got free with Naldo Proença in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 62nd minute Virgílio Perez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremy Nicholas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 64th minute, Tomas Wallin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomas Wallin hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Jeremy Nicholas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgílio Perez in the 72nd minute of play. If Tio Lio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgílio Perez in the 82nd minute of play forced New England Minas's goalkeeper Jeremy Nicholas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Severino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tony Pacheco in the 89th minute of play forced Scarlet Speedster's goalkeeper Naldo Proença to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jeremy Nicholas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgílio Perez in the 92nd minute of play. Oscar Nordmark kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match.
