Santiago Mino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Slavyan Gusev made a huge save. Santiago Mino in the 24thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Slavyan Gusev, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Valentin Harri fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palermo's protests and gave Valentin Harri a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Palermo getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Valentin Harri hit a great ball. Slavyan Gusev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santiago Mino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Rogers Sosnowiec's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Roberto Carlos in the 37th minute. Slavyan Gusev made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Santiago Mino sent off a good shot on target. In the 44th minute of the match FC Rogers Sosnowiec got a corner. Palermo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Roberto Carlos ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Randolph Eubanks heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. With 46 minutes on the clock, Alfons Hellström commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wiktor Bejrut made a kick off. Palermo's Alfredo Joey proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Palermo from getting a goal against them. Leonel Ieltxu kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Alfredo Joey made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wiktor Bejrut in the 58th minute. Leonel Ieltxu scored 1-0 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Slavyan Gusev, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Palermo's Maximino Gonzalez got a free kick in the 65th minute. Leonel Ieltxu kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Slavyan Gusev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carolo Rozarius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The corner led FC Rogers Sosnowiec's Roberto Carlos to fire away a dangerous shot which Alfredo Joey despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Palermo were awarded a corner in the 81th minute after FC Rogers Sosnowiec's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Carolo Rozarius took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Saul Felo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Slavyan Gusev quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Alfredo Joey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugeniusz Cwojdak in the 85th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximino Gonzalez in the 88th minute of play forced FC Rogers Sosnowiec's goalkeeper Slavyan Gusev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfredo Joey made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eugeniusz Cwojdak in the 91st minute. Palermo made a substitution. Marcelino Chaime replaced Carolo Rozarius. Palermo's Bernardino Rameriz was substituted for Maximino Gonzalez. In the 94th minute FC Rogers Sosnowiec were awarded a corner. Roberto Carlos went to the cornerflag to take it. Slavyan Gusev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelino Chaime, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eugeniusz Cwojdak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
